Senami Joined Meristem Securities Limited as the Head of Meristem Capital earlier this year. She is spearheading the transformation to actualize its brand promise of a “friendly company with up to date market information to grow wealth in good time, in an atmosphere of transparency”. A journey to deliver the most personalised, friendly customercentric digital investment bank.
Before Meristem she was the Team Lead Corporate Finance at Sterling Bank Plc. In this role, Senami was responsible for reviewing and valuing corporate clients operating debt and equity structures. She worked closely with clients in creating optimal funding models and framing decision criteria on issuing bonds in the capital market or utilizing other sources of capital to enhance value.
Before her role in corporate finance, Senami was the Head – Private Banking -Wealth Management and Head Private Banking products in Sterling Bank Plc, the buy side of the capital market. In this dual role, she was responsible for starting the department, providing and executing the strategic direction for private banking – wealth management operations and Investment Banking products suitable to the risk-return profile of her clients.
Prior to joing Sterlng Bank , She was at Dunn Loren Merified where she was actively involved in the sell side of the capital market, responsible for investment banking transactions in M&A advisory, divestiture advisory, corporate restructuring, Corporate and government Bond Issues, private placement, valuation, fundraising and financial modelling.
Prior to relocating to Nigeria, She worked at JP morgan Chase, where she was responsible for managing the securiitised asset under the mortgage-backed assets Portfolio.
Senami holds a Masters in Science (Msc) degree in Finance from the Rochester Insitute of Technology, New York and a Bachelor of Science (B.SC) degree in Economics from the Obafemi Awolow Univeristy. She is also an alumnus of the Lagos Business school LBS. She is a CFA level 2 Candidate.
Senami has a particular interest in simplifying three distinct problems for early growth start-ups; valuation, optimal capital structure and access to inexpensive capital. She is passionate about new and emerging technologies and its impact on the future of Investment Banking.
In 2017, She was selected to participate in the inaugural class of one of their signature initiatives, the Parity Partners Professional Program (P3). P3 was founded to address the scarcity of senior-level women in the financial services industry and the companies they invest in, by offering high achieving women in financial services and technology the opportunity to gain access to a curated community of female thought leaders and influencers.
